Due Process or Buffoonery???

In class tonight, a student asked the question, “why is it surprising to people when their ethical expectations of a person are not met, as it applies to the President of the United States?”
Well, if we actually place this into perspective, no one is exempt from disappointing someone in our life.
Eventually, it’s bound to happen. However, in this position, like none other, it’s a provincial trust to lead the free world. So, what’s the big deal here…
The office of the President of the United States is entrusted with the hope and fears, at times, but primarily a culmination of our expectations and investments in the future. The future… In America, the office of the President of the United States is not any one person, it’s the embodiment of you and I – the people of this great country.
In life, we win and we lose. When we lose, hopefully, people will still be shocked when adults fail to behave as adults. Some of us learn from our mistakes, dust ourselves off, and work hard to change our behavior, and move on – and some of us remain stuck, stuck in our own ego, stuck in our own sense of self– ethic to me, myself, and I, entrenching everyone in your tantrum.
It’s time, like none other to have the dignity to suck it up, be an adult, and let the country experience its full potential again. We’re a great country, and we can lead the world again with respect and dignity. To be first, however, you have to meet the challenge of controlling not everyone else, but control of yourself.
Salvage some modicum of dignity and let’s move forward Mr. President.
